While Diamond overlooks the cyclical nature of culture in favor of a linear worldview, it's still an important book. The Dying of the Treesby Charles Little is a thoroughly documented, totally readable book about how we're killing off the lungs of our planet. The Chalice and the Bladeby Riane Eisler was one of the first "big" books to talk about "cooperator" or "leaver" or "Older" cultures. Brilliant! World War IIIby Michael Tobias is about the "war" humans are waging on our biosphere, and how it may ultimately end up destroying us. The Case Against the Global Economyby Mander & Goldsmith is a collection of essays that point out the difference between "global trade" and "internationalization." Very good for econ-interested folks! MORE BOOKS ---> Top of Page
