This list is by no means complete, and is in no particular order. We’ll be updating it in future editions of the book as time goes on. And, this list is not a bibliography: keep an eye out for footnotes throughout the inside of The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight, The Prophet's Way, and the acknowledgements page in The Greatest Spiritual Secret of the Century for other excellent titles, as we chose to cite bibliographic content in context. This list, instead, is a somewhat eclectic collection of books which Thom found personally meaningful or useful, as well as relevant to the topic of this book, including and in addition to those books cited throughout the text. An Unnatural Orderby Jim Mason is an extraordinary challenge to the belief that the world is here for humans first and foremost. And The Waters Turned to Bloodby Rodney Barker is a chilling in-depth analysis of the problems associated with agricultural waste and "red tide." Asian Journal, Theby Thomas Merton is a fine introduction to the thinking of this modern (and now deceased) mystic. Who Will Feed China?by Lester R. Brown is a brilliant insight into the coming worldwide food crisis. The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence is one of the great classics in the literature of Christian mysticism.
